FULL TIME INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGIST: Vancouver, BC, Canada

Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is seeking a full-time Interventional Radiologist to join a dynamic group of 27 academic radiologists providing general and subspecialty diagnostic and interventional radiological services to the Vancouver General Hospital and UBC Hospital, both integral parts of the University of British Columbia (UBC) hospital system.

All applicants must hold an MD degree (or equivalent), have completed Fellowship training in Interventional Radiology, and be eligible for licensure in the Province of British Columbia.  All applicants must also be currently certified by, or eligible for certification by, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.  The successful applicant will be located at Vancouver General Hospital and UBC Hospital.

We are seeking an academically oriented vascular/interventional radiologist with a strong interest and experience in research and teaching. Clinical work involves covering an active interventional service including arterial and venous procedures, gastrointestinal and genitourinary interventions.  Training and experience is required in the following: interventional oncology including chemoembolization, radioembolization and thermal ablation; peripheral vascular intervention; thoracic aortic interventions (stent grafts); pain management injections; non-invasive cross sectional vascular imaging (CT and MR); and experience in diagnostic imaging in a level 1 trauma centre. Expertise in MR angiography is highly desirable. A cosmetic facial injection course with certificate is also highly desirable. The applicant will be working in a multidisciplinary group and must be willing to cover additional areas in general radiology as per group requirements.

The applicant shall be required to successfully pass/obtain the following:

  • Level 2 Cardiac CT Certification
  • Necessary licenses, consents and authorization from the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta to practice in Alberta

 

The successful applicant will enjoy a challenging practice including CT, US, MRI and General Radiography in a PACS environment. ACADEMIC ABDOMINAL RADIOLOGIST:  Vancouver, BC, Canada

Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is seeking a full-time clinical and academic abdominal radiologist with fellowship training in abdominal radiology to join a dynamic group of 27 academic radiologists providing general and subspecialty diagnostic and interventional radiological services to Vancouver General Hospital and UBC Hospital.  Preferred start date is July 1, 2018.

All applicants must hold an MD degree (or equivalent), have completed fellowship training in body/abdominal radiology, and be eligible for licensure in the province of British Columbia.  All applicants must also be currently certified by, or eligible for certification by, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

The successful applicant will be part of a six-member, high-volume abdominal radiology section. Responsibilities include provision of diagnostic and non-vascular abdominal interventional procedures, as defined below:

  1. Be proficient in general ultrasound, abdominal CT and MRI, and abdominal fluoroscopy procedures.
  2. Be proficient in multi-modality image guided biopsy and non-vascular abdominal intervention procedures, including but not limited to percutaneous nephrostomy, ureteric stenting, and drainage procedures.
  3. Be accredited and proficient in the reporting of CT colonography examinations.
  4. Be proficient in performance of MR fusion-Ultrasound guided prostate biopsy.
  5. Participate equally in provision of abdominal on-call services at the Vancouver General Hospital.
  6. Competency in Emergency/Trauma imaging and Breast imaging is desirable but not mandatory.
  7. Additional qualification with Masters of Business Administration (MBA) or Master of Health Administration (MHA) is desirable but not mandatory.

The applicant will be working in a multidisciplinary group and must be willing to cover additional areas in general radiology as per group requirements.

Teaching activities include undergraduate instruction and supervision of residents in diagnostic radiology and affiliated specialties.  The abdominal radiology fellowship program is based at Vancouver General Hospital, and currently accepts four clinical fellows annually.  In addition to teaching responsibilities, there are many research opportunities available. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to the section’s academic mandate.

FULL-TIME EMERGENCY TRAUMA RADIOLOGIST: VANCOUVER, BC Canada

Vancouver General Hospital is seeking three full-time academic Emergency Trauma Radiologists to join Vancouver Imaging a dynamic group of 27 academic radiologists providing general and subspecialty diagnostic and interventional radiological services to the Vancouver General Hospital and UBC Hospital, both integral parts of the University of British Columbia (UBC) hospital system.

Our ER/TRAUMA section is one of the largest and most advanced academic Emergency Radiology groups in the world, and operates a radiology staff lead 24/7/365 from our reading room, which is centrally located within Vancouver General Hospital Emergency Department (ED). Our department is fully digital with state-of-the-art equipment including dual-source/ dual-energy CT. The clinical service includes X-ray, Ultrasound, CT (head to toe including cardiac and Head and neck CTA) and MRI in the acute setting (i.e. acute abdomen, MRCP, MSK, Neuro).

All the members of our department are expected to engage and collaborate in both the clinical and non-clinical activities of the section, including providing substantial contributions in research, education, and/or sectional administration. Teaching requirements include training a bright group of Residents and more than six Emergency Radiology Fellows annually. We value our excellent collaborations with Emergency Medicine, General Surgery, Trauma, Cardiology, Stroke and Critical care services along with our other radiology department subspecialty sections.

All candidates must hold an MD degree (or equivalent), have completed Fellowship training in Emergency Trauma Radiology, and be eligible for licensure in the Province of British Columbia.  All applicants must also be currently certified by, or eligible for certification by, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. The successful applicant will be located at Vancouver General Hospital and UBC Hospital.

Mandatory candidate qualifications include:

Fellowship training is strongly preferred, and/or several years of substantial Emergency Radiology experience in an accredited Level 1 Trauma Center.

Quality improvement experiences are highly desirable.

  1. Demonstrated experience in Cardiac CT with at least a Level 2 Cardiac CT certification.
  2. Agreement to work on-site as the primary Radiologist responsible for imaging studies in an Accredited Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department on a “24/7” basis.
  3. Demonstrated capacity to work efficiently in a high volume and fast paced practice.
  4. Willingness and capacity to image and interpret all organ systems including neurologic, thoracic, vascular, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, musculoskeletal, gynecologic, early obstetric and cross cover other subspecialty sections.
  5. Accomplished track record in clinical teaching at the medical student, resident, and Fellowship level.
  6. Proven academic track record with an established research portfolio and peer reviewed publications is strongly desirable.

Additional qualities/qualifications include:

  1. Have experience in all aspects of MRI and CT including body and neuroradiology.
  2. Have experience in Dual-Energy CT.
  3. Have experience and in-depth knowledge of contemporary low-dose CT techniques.
  4. Have experience in working with and developing relationships in industry.
  5. Have in-depth knowledge of educational and radiological information technology systems.
